The image on this sweatshirt is of a woman wiping her face, probably after a performance. It is by Japanese 18th century artist Kitagawa Utamaro and represents an artistic technique called Ukiyo-e. Using this technique artists during the 17th through 19th centuries produced woodblock prints and paintings of a variety of subjects including beautiful women; kabuki actors and sumo wrestlers. Principal colors are black and white.
